As a food business, for now, we are in a privileged position to try to help the community (I say for now because even wholesale supplies are uncertain).
So my team and I have decided that from Thursday 19th March, we will be making huge pans of stews/curries/chilli con carne etc, boxing them up in sterilized containers and freezing them. We will then be offering them to certain vulnerable groups who have been forced to isolate for free, including free home delivery, to be microwaved at home.
However there is only myself at the moment who is able to drive and we are looking for anybody who drives who is willing to help during the day to make these deliveries.

The people who qualify for free meals will be as follows:

People who are forced to isolate due to being aged 60+

People who are forced to isolate due to having a serious health condition

Someone who is a single parent and can't leave the house due to childcare commitments

At the moment we can offer 1 meal per person per household per day, up to a maximum of 4 and we sincerely ask people to respect the required conditions stated above and not request food if they are not part of those groups.
To make the request for free meals and delivery, get in touch using 0161 327 0122 and we will do our best to accommodate you. The phone line will be open between 10:00am - 10:00pm and we will try to deliver the next day. Please understand however that if we are inundated with requests, we might not be able to accommodate you; it will be on a first come first serve basis.
The driver will arrive at your door the next day with the selection of meals we have available and you can choose what you'd like.

We will be offering this service within a 3 mile radius of San Giorgio (OL5 0HR).
Please be assured that, although we always have, now more than ever the strictest hygiene policies will be enforced.
All surfaces, tools and utensils will be thoroughly disinfected using industry approved products on a regular basis, including after being touched by anyone, my staff and I will be washing our hands as often as is possible and we have ample hand-sanitizer that we will be using.
The meals will be sealed in airtight sterilized plastic containers at 90C or above, which is more than hot enough to kill all germs and viruses.
It goes without saying that staff showing any symptoms will be told to stay at home.
Drivers and packers will be using hand sanitizer before handling the bag with food in it, and they will place the bag at your door, knock on and step away to avoid contact. We reserve the right to refuse this service and take back the food should our driver suspect that people are not a part of the above categories.
